Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Weiss, M.D.
- We must learn our life lessons, in order.
- Time is not really measured in terms of time, but in life lessons learned.
- We all plan a blueprint for our life before we are born. We plan what encounters we will have. These do happen, but there is also free will – how we react to them. Destiny (the plan) and free will interact throughout our lives.
- We are all born with a dominant problem to work through. If we don’t do it, we will have that problem plus another one in our next life.
- Groups of souls tend to reincarnate together again and again, as family and friends, paying karmic debts to each other.
- We must repay all our spiritual debts to individuals. If we don’t, we will have to wait and incarnate with them in another life to pay the debt.
- Souls incarnate first to learn; then to teach.
- We must go toward those of a different vibration than ourselves, whom we feel wrong with, as well as those with the same vibration as ourselves.
- We should not stay in abusive relationships.
- Through knowledge we become closer to God.
- We are not all equal, but will be equal in the end.
- Killing is wrong, no matter what a person does; only God has the right to punish.
- Nothing can be rushed. Our lives will unfold as they are meant to.
- Whether you help a few people or many people does not matter.
- Living alone and independently is a virtue, as well as living in a marriage.
Dannion Brinkley book:
- Spirits vibrate at different frequencies. It feels bad to be among those below or above your own frequency.
- At one point he was watching a presentation by spirits, each of whom represented a different one of the 13 basic human temperaments or qualities.
- He had to agree to forgive all those who had crossed him in order to progress to the next spiritual level.
- In heaven he was able to absorb all knowledge.
- At one point he was in a hall with other souls, only they couldn’t see each other. He realized this was so they would not be distracted from the presentation.
- He gained the ability to read people’s minds. After touching their hand, he would see movies of their lives, particularly recent fights with others or sources of sadness.
Bettie Eades
- All life is governed by laws (good chapter in her book about laws)
Notes from various web sites:
- What we think is the least important may be the most important events in our lives.
- Love is all that matters; particularly love shown to the unlovable; not earthly wealth, fame and accomplishment.
- Those with physical disabilities may be the most highly evolved spiritually, and/or may have taken on the largest challenges in order to attain faster spiritual progress.
- There are different levels of spiritual existence.
- Meditation is important as well as prayer, according to Edgar Cayce.
- Praying for others is the most highly evolved form of prayer.
- Music is important in the spirit realms … there is incredible music, and the spirit realms are very related to harmony and vibration in general.
My reactions:
I can understand biblical injunctions much better after reading these books. I’ve always been a “work your way to heaven” type person, and couldn’t understand the doctrine of “saved by faith alone.” Now I see that spontaneous small acts of love are what is important in life; not big projects.
Likewise, my mother couldn’t understand the “judge not” injunction. Now I see that we can’t possibly know that much about another person: the circumstances of their past lives as well as their present life; what life lessons they are supposed to learn.
