I have an eclectic view of religion, and a deep appreciation of almost all the world’s religions. This is particularly true since I am a Jew by birth (though my parents did not practice the religion in any way), and a Catholic convert, but have attended Protestant churches with my family for many years, since my husband and children did not want to be practice Catholicism.
But what has shaped my views the most is reading accounts of near-death experiences, which I would call “research based spirituality,” as this is the testimony of countless people who have “died and come back,” and the accounts all corroborate the same basic view.
This reading was prompted by my daughter Nina’s sudden fear of dying at around age 8, and my search for something that would comfort her. I found an incredible website – http://www.near-death.com (see links at the right), that we spent days reading. It was the only thing that gave her relief. I also read many books on the subject, and my notes on them are on the “Book Reviews” subpage below, with the book, Many Lives, Many Masters.
