Happy 18th birthday
To our Valentine boy.
You’re an adult now;
You can vote!
It’s been a long journey
With out first born son.
You were the recipient
Of our undivided attention,
And all our mistakes.
Nothing has brought us
More happiness
Than being parents,
And it all started with you!
This was the year of learning to drive;
Hitting the neighbor’s car,
Who said, “Don’t worry about it,”
What a relief!
Deciding to be an architect
No matter how hard we tried to talk you out of it.
Internship with Paul Faulk,
Learning AutoCAD.
New cool haircut,
Skin meds in addition to seizure meds,
Finally, your own room,
Great new couch with recliners.
Ice arena and birthday parties,
Working with Jake at Horton Plaza,
“Surf” hockey team and coach MF.
Summer trip for try-out’s at San Jose State.
The Iron Chef, Family Guy,
Counterstrike with friends.
Playing bass with Nathan, Marcus and Chuck,
Lots of food at the Scafidis!
Last year of high school,
Getting good at soldering and Basic.
Reading lots of blogs,
You’re our source of electronics news.
You’re my sweet boy,
I depend on you.
Hope we don’t lose you
For a few more years.
18 years …
You’re a big, handsome guy,
A hard worker with informed opinions.
We’re proud of what you have become.
